Bikelights 2016- Marvellous Machines
5 Artist commissions of £800 each are available for professional artists and makers to create a unique illuminated bike creation for Bikelights 2016. These 5 commissions are offered by Wadebridge Creative Hub.
The theme for this year is “Marvellous Machines”- we are interested in illuminated bike based creations that explore ideas around machinery, and movement- we have in our collective minds Heath Robinson, the mechanical creations by Professor Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and steam punk style creations- but what we really want to know is what creations are in your head?
All successful commissions will need to be shown as part of the BikeLights Procession in Wadebridge, Cornwall on Saturday 15th October 2016, starting at 6.45pm. We will be on-site in Wadebridge on the day of the event for setting up. The fee of £800 is an all-inclusive fee. All bike creations need to travel on the procession- there is a narrow point near a bridge meaning that anything wider than 5 feet will not fit! If you require accommodation for the event, we will be able to help.
Send us a short summary of your idea with no more than 2 drawings or images to support your proposal plus a CV.
