After School Dance Clubs

DR2 are working with schools all over Cornwall to offer after school dance clubs

We have the privilege of working with hundreds of primary school children across Cornwall who attend after school dance clubs that we run in collaboration with their schools.  Our after-school dance sessions are led by professional dancers and dance leaders who specialise in lots of different styles of dance from contemporary to street dance.  Our aim is to support schools to continue to offer good, fun, high quality dance experiences to young people in  and out of school time.  At the end of every term there will be an opportunity to perform with the rest of the after school groups in an inspiring location.

What we hope to achieve is lots of young people engaged and excited about dance who are motivated to continue to dance through secondary school with programmes like Propeller and on to FE at a course like Altitude at Cornwall College and Falmouth University’s Dance & Choreography BA course.

Currently we are working with

St Breock Primary School– Thursday afternoons. Led by Suzie West

Wadebridge Primary Academy – Monday afternoons. Led by Suzie West

St Issey Primary School – Thursday afternoon. Led by Ronnie Bartlett

Beacon ACE Academy – KS2 after school club and KS1 in curriculum dance sessions – led by Miranda Howard

St Mewan school – Mondays to start this term- led by Dean Wills

Treverbyn school – Wednesdays to start this term – led by Dean Wills

Bishop Bronescombe – Fridays to start this term – led by Dean Wills
