From Propeller, to Altitude – Dance training just expanded..!

2016 saw the launch of Propeller, a training programme for young dancers aged 11 – 16. We are now on the lookout for our 2017/18 students, with a host of workshops booked across the five Propeller sites. Full details of this years workshop recruitment programme, which takes place w/c 22nd May, can be found on the Propeller Dance website.

But! Brand new for 2017/18 is ALTITUDE, a 2 year Diploma in Dance for aspiring professional dancers aged 16 and over. Delivered by Cornwall College, in partnership with DR2 and Falmouth University, it focuses on Contemporary Dance, offering participants the chance to develop skills that will carry them through to professional-level training. The course will look at Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Choreography, Improvisation and the practical elements of current dance practice and how it shapes/is shaped by political and social context. The course will primarily take place at Cornwall College, St Austell, though some elements will be taught at AMATA, Falmouth University.

There are three audition/interview opportunities.

WADEBRIDGE TOWN HALL / Monday 22nd May / 7.30 – 8.30pm

(AMATA) FALMOUTH UNIVERSITY / Tuesday 23rd May / 7.30 – 8.30pm

KEAY THEATRE, St Austell / Wednesday 24th May / 7.30 – 8.30pm
